The number of high speed rail projects is growing steadily across Europe and, though operating in different environments, train operators and infrastructure managers face similar challenges. The liberalisation of cross-border services for passengers marks a new era for the rail industry and raises questions about whether the “co-opetition” model will continue to be feasible.
