Raffaele Cicala joined UniCredit Group in 2006. He previously worked four years in Procter & Gamble, where he was Group Manager in Italy and at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) for sixteen years. In BCG he worked in Consumer Good & Retail and in Financial Services in France, Italy and CEE. Since January 2009, Mrs Irmfried Schwimann is Director in the European Commission's Directorate General for Competition; she is responsible for antitrust, merger and state aid control in the financial services sector.
Previously, Mrs Schwimann was head of DG Competition's financial services antitrust unit (2006-2008) and head of DG Internal Market's Financial Services Policy unit (2003-2006). Mrs Schwimann also worked on retail financial services and payment issues within DG Markt (1999-2002) and was a member of Commissioner Bolkestein's Cabinet (2002-2003).
Mrs Schwimann studied law at the University of Linz/Austria as well as political science at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris.
Before joining the Commission Mrs Schwimann worked for the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1984-1989) as well as for an Austrian Insurance group (1989-1999).
Mrs. Schwimann is married and has 3 children.

She joined from a career in advertising, most of it spent at AMV.BBDO, the market leader. Sarah brings to The Futures Company a broad experience in consumer insight, proposition development, brand positioning and brand building. She works across a range of skill sets; she is an experienced qualitative researcher and workshop facilitator, runs a major Global trends project and leads our Quantitative Insight and Segmentation group at The Futures Company. József NYÍRI (32) Chief Technology Officer of IND Group. Together with his partners he founded IND during studying on the University of Miskolc. The company focuses on banking software development for 12 years. Nyíri was responsible for establishing the Professional Services and Product Development departments at IND. He was a project manager of the implementation in CIB Internet Banking in Hungary and the Alternative Delivery Channels project of Bank of Valletta in Malta. To ensure the highest level of software development he introduced the quality and security management system, he developed test and support groups within the company. Today Nyíri’s main tasks are to coordinate international sales and the managing IND’s Innovation Lab.

As the head of the Retail team at the British Bankers' Association, Eric's brief covers a broad portfolio of issues, including forthcoming revisions to the Consumer Credit Act, Payment Protection Insurance, proposed changes to insolvency and debt management legislation, pensions and savings, and the introduction of Banking Conduct of Business standards, Payment Services Regulations and the Lending Code - which in combination replace the Banking Code from November 2009.
In a wider context, Eric's team also hold responsibility for proposed European interventions, including the retail banking review, Single European Payments Area - and the introduction of collective redress, which has been the subject of much attention and debate in Brussels recently and emerging EU thinking around a single home loans market. Eric chairs the European Banking Federation's Consumer Affairs Committee
Eric has over twenty years experience as a career banker in retail banking with NatWest and latterly the Royal Bank of Scotland Group. During this time, the roles he has undertaken have been both operational and strategic, including successful spells as a branch and business manager. Before joining the BBA, he was responsible for a portfolio of policy-driven projects in PR and communications, new and emergent markets, legal and regulatory issues and crisis management.

John is the former Managing Director and Transformation Director at the retail bank Abbey National.
During his extensive career in the bank his roles included Sales Director, Marketing Director, Operations Director, European Director and Managing Director (retail).
He received worldwide recognition for innovation in bringing a form of franchising to UK financial services as well as changing the face of high street banking by putting coffee and banking together (Costa Coffee).
Since retiring from Abbey at the end of 2003 John has worked throughout the world assisting retail banks improve their performance across all channels (experience has included Africa/ SE Asia/ Australia/ W and E Europe/ Middle East, India, Pakistan and UK).
He has published work on retail bank performance and is a well recognised speaker at conferences in Europe, USA, Asia and the UK.
In addition to work in the financial services arena his expertise also incorporates non FS sectors such as retail where he has helped companies dramatically improve performance through creating a “buying culture” ensuring the bank looks at all aspects of its business from the customer’s perspective.
In addition to running his own business John works as a mentor for a leading specialist company in the UK, as well as being involved in projects such as bringing wireless broadband to W. Africa.
His work involves him working with leading brands such as Euromoney, The Asian Banker and Goldman Communications to deliver high quality, interactive, practical training events around the globe.
A knowledgeable and very experienced individual John will help challenge existing approaches and methodologies to improve corporate performance. His knowledge of the market changes and the new world facing retail banks enable him to give added value to senior management teams wishing to differentiate their performance in a crowded marketplace.
