Doing More With Less - Overview

In the face of an economic crisis and a period of intense pressure on public resources, speakers and delegates from across central and local government came together to exchange best practice and discuss their own experiences. Much discussion focused on the need to drive both productivity and efficiency, whilst not just maintaining but improving services for end-users. Senior figures shared their inspirational stories of the path to achieving real cultural change and building a motivated workforce. An emerging theme was the role of strong leadership in change and the central qualities of outstanding leaders. Furthermore, the roundtable discussions allowed for intimate, relaxed debate which provided attendees with new ideas on how to tackle some of the mammoth challenges currently facing public sector organisations.
