Under the pressure of a looming generation gap, supply chain and specialist skills must also be in place to allow timely delivery of any new build programme. In addition, finalising a solution for the long-term disposal of waste remains a priority, and further progress towards the implementation of a deep geological repository is key to securing the future of nuclear in the UK.
